I am an experienced Licensed Professional Counselor who is passionate about walking alongside others on their healing journey towards emotional, spiritual and relational wholeness. I have spent the last 27 years embracing the stories of the brave and courageous who long for personal growth and change. I agree with Brene Brown who says, “When we deny the story, it defines us. When we own the story, we can write a brave new ending.” I am a natural cheerleader who attempts to create a culture of connection where we are seen, heard, and understood.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor, nationally certified and an Approved Licensed Professional Supervisor. Sharing my experience as I pass the baton to those younger in the field is important to me. I am a Certified Sexual Addictions Counselor, and an ICEEFT Certified Emotionally Focused Therapist and Supervisor. I am a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner who listens to the story of the nervous system, helping clients escape the trap of trauma. I also practice as a Master trained Accelerated Resolution Therapist.
I live with my family in Huntington, West Virginia. My husband of 27 years has taught me about unconditional love. My daughter, MacKenzie, has taught me about trust and faith as she has battled the genetic disorder, Williams Syndrome. Evan, my son, has taught me the game of baseball and the importance of developing your passions through hard work and determination. Little boys do steal their mom’s heart! The demonstration of loyalty and connection from my little dachshund, Sammi, added much joy to my life. Sammi passed away in April 2022, and I grieve her loss daily. I am fully dependent on my faith and consider this work to be SOUL-care. I am honored by the opportunity to be present with others as they expose the most vulnerable parts of self. My office is a safe, secure, nonjudgmental place for those struggling with pain. I truly believe we are all created for connection and cling to the theory and science of attachment to be what fundamentally guides my service to others.”
